O Most Merciful and Almighty Father, God of Heaven and Earth,
With a heart overflowing with gratitude, I come before Your glorious throne this evening. I thank You, Lord, for Your unwavering presence throughout this day, for guiding my steps and sheltering me in Your loving embrace. For the joys that have lifted my spirit and the trials that have drawn me closer to Your Sacred Heart, I offer my humble and sincere thanks. You teach us, O Lord, to find grace in all things, and so I praise You for the countless blessings, both seen and unseen, that You have bestowed upon me and my beloved family. We are eternally indebted to Your boundless generosity.
I lift up to Your compassionate gaze all families throughout the world, especially those burdened by hardship and sorrow. O Divine Provider, I implore You to shower them with Your abundant grace. Grant them sustenance, shield them from harm, and fill their hearts with the unwavering peace and ineffable joy that only Your divine presence can provide, even amidst the storms of life. May they find solace in the knowledge of Your unfailing love.
As the shadows of night descend, and I prepare to surrender myself to slumber, I beseech You, O Lord, for Your vigilant protection. Envelop me and my loved ones in Your impenetrable armor, guarding us from all evil, both seen and unseen, and thwarting the insidious designs of the enemy. Your sacred Word, a beacon of hope and truth, assures us that no weapon forged against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and in this promise, I place my unwavering trust.
Lord, Your Word, a wellspring of comfort, proclaims in the Book of Proverbs, “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet” (Proverbs 3:24). I cling to this divine assurance, O Lord, and earnestly pray for a night of peaceful and restorative sleep. Banish all anxieties and fears that may seek to trouble my soul, and grant me the profound and complete rest that comes only from resting in You, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Extend Your mantle of peace and comfort to each member of my family, O Loving Father. May we all be profoundly aware of Your presence, ever mindful of Your infinite goodness. Inspire us to meditate upon Your Holy Word, allowing its wisdom to penetrate our hearts and deepen our trust in Your divine plan.
In accordance with Your promise in Psalm 91, I pray that You dispatch Your celestial legions, Your holy angels, to encamp around my family and me throughout this night. Let them be our guardians against all that is not of You, O Lord. May no harm, no evil, no shadow of darkness approach our dwelling. Let Your holy angels, radiant with Your divine light, stand watch over us as we sleep.
You, O Lord, are my refuge and my shield, my fortress and my strength. With You at my side, I cast aside all fear of the night, knowing that I am eternally secure in Your loving embrace. As I drift into slumber, may the sweet remembrance of Your unwavering love and faithfulness fill my heart, dispelling any anxieties about the morrow, for I know that You, O Lord, hold the future in Your loving hands, and Your plans for me are good.
To You, O Lord, belong all praise, glory, and honor, now and forevermore. Thank You for inclining Your ear to my humble prayer. I offer all these petitions, with unwavering faith and a heart full of love, in the most holy and powerful name of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. And through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, pray for us. Amen.
