Bedtime prayer to end your day

Powerful bedtime prayer to end your day with God. Before we pray, let’s calm our spirits with these scriptures.

Psalm 4:8 – In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.

Proverbs 3:24 – When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Psalm 3:5 – I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me.

Now let us pray

Lord, thank you for this day and everything you sent with it.

In the good times and the bad you are my unfailing rock, and I’m so grateful for You.

Please forgive me for anything I may have done consciously or unconsciously that offended you or your people.

My sole desire is to please you and serve you. As I walk out this life in your presence,

help me press into you more deeply and follow you ever more closely until Christ is formed in me.

I want to commit the night to you now. You are the great watchman able to see into the darkness

and search the dead of mine where there are schemes to harm and bring injury,

I pray against that and ask for your protection during the night.

I decree tonight that no weapon formed against me shall prosper in Jesus name.

Let me sleep peacefully in the shelter of your embrace. May I find the comfort I desire in you and the strength I need in your name

And Lord, I petition you not only for myself but also for my family, I pray your peace would be in their dwelling. I pray your protection would be over their dwelling.

I pray you would invade their space and cause them to meditate on your goodness so that they may be moved into adoration.

As I sleep, I find refuge in your arms. Your faithfulness is my shield that protects me from one night to the next.

The darkness of night holds no fear for me as I look to you.

The light of the world. Let my thoughts settle on your goodness and your mercy as I fall asleep,

take away any anxiety about tomorrow as I know you will be there with me.

So Lord of Hosts, I apply the precious blood of Jesus Christ on door and window on my house.

Tonight, I apply your blood to work in our favor as we take our rest tonight in the name of Jesus.

Lord, you are an awesome God and serving you is a treasure.

I thank you for providing for me, healing me, redeeming me, and making me your own.

You have done great things for me and, regardless of my circumstances, I will choose joy.

In the Almighty Precious Name of Jesus, I pray these things. Amen.
