Prayer to see God’s glory

He called out to Moses through a burning bush that was not consumed. He parted the waters and made manna fall from heaven. His people were guided in the desert by pillars of fire and cloud. Giants and armies were defeated against all odds. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

These were some of the visible works of God. His glory is forever and always manifested for us to see. In fact, in every day and every moment, creation speaks of him. Ask the Lord to open your eyes and heart to see his glory at work. Remember, the greatest glory is Christ resurrected for the salvation of souls.

Dear heavenly Father,

I know you are here with me; I feel your presence.

Still, my loving Lord, Won’t you show me your glory?

Even though I’m just a tiny speck In your great universe,

Reveal to me once more As you have done since the beginning Your splendor and majesty.

Open my eyes and heart, Oh Lord To see your greatness,

From each blade of grass To the brilliance of a shining star A million miles away.

Let me look again And behold your mighty hand Working in lives and souls around me.

You free us and heal us, You make the change, Your deliver miracles.

And the transformed life Is your greatest work of all.

Even Christ was astounded By a man or woman’s faith As it is of God.

Show me your glory, Oh Lord, And may my life somehow glorify My Savior resurrected.

In Jesus name, Amen.
