“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Before our feet hit the floor in the morning, we can pray and ask God to give us courage to face the day. We had all experienced difficult times in our lives when we felt as if the burdens of the world were on our shoulders, and it felt much easier to hide in bed. But we can courage and confidence to face each day, knowing that our God is with us, and will not let us fall.
Lord, I ask for your strength and courage to help me face the day ahead of me. I don’t know what is going to happen or what lies ahead, but I know that I can conquer this day, because you are with me wherever I go (Joshua 1:9). Because you are my God and the lifter of my head, I will not fear the terror of night, or the arrow that flies by day–for you are my shield and rampart (Psalm 91:4-5)
